Home away from home

We were staying in another apartment like we had in Beijing… We were excited to have our own kitchen, washer dryer and most importantly personal space.  Yay.. Separate bedrooms!!  We had figured out that it was cheaper to buy new clothes in Shanghai rather than send them to the cleaners.  Having our own washer and dryer was quite a luxury!! The ability to prepare our own meals was also very exciting–especially since we knew that this would be where we were going to spend our Thanksgiving.  This place definitely had everything we needed to comfortably call it home for a month.  In fact we fantasized that if we were to ever live in a city–this would be exactly how we would do it… 24 hour  room service, daily maid service, turn down service, private concierge, gym and spa facilities, valet, all within the heart of a exciting vibrant city overflowing with arts and creativity… with no maintenance.  Let’s just say that cities were starting to appeal to me again…I wasn’t sure if this was a good or a bad thing?? : )
